Using the Neuroscience Gateway Portal for Parallel Simulations
Symposia MeetingDate & Time: Saturday, November 9, 2013 8:30am - 10:30pm
Location: http://www.nsgportal.org/workshop.html
Sponsor Category: University/Non-Profit
Sponsored By: Yale University School of Medicine and University of California, San Diego
Organizer/Moderator: Nicholas T Carnevale
This workshop is intended for neuroscientists who are already using or would like to use the Neuroscience Gateway Portal (NSG
http://www.nsgportal.org/) for parallel simulations. The NSG portal eliminates most administrative and technical barriers facing neuroscientists who need to use high performance computing resources for large modeling projects. Its web-based interface simplifies the tasks of uploading models, specifying job parameters, monitoring the job status, and storing and retrieving output data. Simulators currently installed include NEURON and PGENESIS, and others such as MOOSE, NEST, and PyNN are being added now or in the near future. The workshop will combine didactic presentations by NSG's developers, discussions with experienced users, and hands-on instruction in how to use the portal. It will be held on Saturday, November 9, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at a location in downtown San Diego. Registration is limited so be sure to sign up early. To register see
