NIF at Neuroscience 2010

The Neuroscience Information Framework (NIF) is participating in this year's Neuroscience 2010, the 40th annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, which will be held November 13–17, 2010 in San Diego, CA at the San Diego Convention Center.

The Neuroinformatics & Genomics Social, sponsored by SfN, will be the first social event we will be taking part in. This social will include a brief presentation with guests, I. Zaslavsky, E. De Schutter, and C. Ingrahm from 6:45 PM-8:45 PM, on Sunday, November 14, 2010.

With the astronomical increase of neuroscience data and tools, the need for standards and platforms for neuroscience data has become increasingly important. This social will present the activities of the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF), an international organization dedicated to development of standards and tools for sharing and integrating neuroscience information. NIF is one of the US National Nodes to the INCF and is involved in many of their programs. Come and learn about INCF and how you can participate in INCF programs in atlasing, ontologies, metadata, and modeling.

This social will be located at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina: Columbia 1&2.

On Monday, November 15, 2010, NIF will be co-sponsoring the Neuroscience 2.0 - Networking data, tools, and people social with the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF), Whole Brain Project (WBP), Allen Institute for Brain Science, Linking Animal Models to Human Disease (LAMHDI), Code Analysis, Repository & Modelling for E-Neuroscience (CARMEN), and Neuroimaging Informatics Tools and Resources Clearinghouse (NITRC).

This social will be located at the Tipsy Crow located in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. It will be from 6:30 PM-9:30 PM. Be sure to drop by the NIF booth (#4024) to receive an invitation. (Note: You must be age 21+ to attend)
