The NIF LinkOut Broker (NLB), developed by Dr. Luis Marenco and colleagues of Yale University, is designed to coordinate the assembly of links to neuroscience information items (e.g., experimental data, knowledge bases, and software tools) that are (1) accessible via the Web, and (2) related to entries in the National Center for Biotechnology Information’s (NCBI’s) Entrez system. For example, resources that are mentioned in a paper are indexed in Pub Med.  The NLB collects these links from each resource and passes them to the NCBI which incorporates them into its Entrez LinkOut service.  Using the NIF LinkOut Broker, resource providers don't have to sign up separately, as all of the communications with NCBI are handled automatically by NIF.  We will show a demonstration of the LinkOut Broker in action in existing databases and will provide a tutorial on how to use this tool for your own resource.

We sure hope you can make it!
