Proper Citation: Biosensis Cat# GP-030-50, RRID:AB_2492389
Target Antigen: A synthetic peptide (Ac-SYSMEHFRWGKPV) corresponding to the amino acids 138-150 from human Proopiomelanocortin (POMC). POMC is the precursor of the melanocortin peptides alpha, beta and gamma. The synthetic peptide was conjugated to a carrier protein to enhance the immunological response.
Host Organism: guinea pig
Clonality: unknown
Comments: IHC. A concentration of 1 in 2,000 is recommended for IHC. IHC performed in sheep brain (hypothalamus) demonstrates intense staining of cells. No staining is evident when the primary antibody is pre-absorbed with 0.5mg/ml of alpha MSH. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

dkNET can assist you in preparing authentication plans for antibodies to comply with the NIH Submission Policy. The information can be used while planning your experiments or submitting grant applications. The authentication plan for antibodies is based on methods suggested in "A proposal for validation of antibodies" (Uhlen M et. al., 2016), the guideline published in the Journal of Comparative Neurology (Saper C, 2005)(2), and the example " Authentication of of Key Biological and/or Chemical Resources "(Bandrowski A). For best practices for authenticating antibodies, check our Authentication Reports services.
