Hello everyone.
Please mark your calendars.
The next
NIF Webinar will be held on
Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:00 am PDT. Please join Janna Hastings as she discusses
Mental Functioning Ontology.
The following is a description of the webinar:
The Mental Functioning Ontology is an overarching modular ontology covering all aspects of mental functioning, including mental processes such as cognition and traits such as intelligence. It provides a grounding in an upper level ontology and a framework within which mental functioning can be related to other levels of description within other ontologies, such as anatomy and biochemistry. Modules which are currently actively under development are those for cognition and emotion, and separately, related diseases and affective disorders. MFO is being developed in the context of the Ontology for General Medical Science and the Basic Formal Ontology, and is currently a collaboration between the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and the University at Buffalo, USA, although the collaborative development model is expected to extend to further partners in the future. The project is being developed with full involvement of all relevant communities, following best practices laid out by the OBO Foundry.
