NEURON course at SfN - Register today

Are you
* a student just starting to learn how to use NEURON to model biological
neurons and networks of neurons?
* an experienced modeler interested in NEURON's latest advances?
* an established investigator deciding whether to add computational
modeling to your lab's research strategy?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you'll want to take the
NEURON course on Friday, November 2, just before the start of the 2018
meeting of the Society for Neuroscience. This course will present the basic
principles that underlie modeling of cells and circuits with NEURON, and
include many practical tips for developing and using models of cells and
circuits. We'll show you how to

* use the Import3d tool to convert morphometric data files (NeuroLucida,
SWC) into models
* combine the strengths of Python and NEURON's GUI to build and work with
models of individual neurons
* add new ion channels and synaptic mechanisms to NEURON
* use the RxD (reaction diffusion) module to include chemical signaling in
your models
* use the Model View tool to analyze models
* build network models
* use adaptive integration for improved accuracy
* speed up simulations on parallel hardware ranging from your own multicore
PC or Mac to large scale high performance computing resources

The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, October 19--less
than two weeks from today. The online registration form is at
