Visiome Platform Tutorial

Visiome Platform is a digital research resource archive for vision science. The available resources include mathematical models, experimental stimuli, experimental data, and analytical tools.

The visiome is a particularly good place to find visual illusion stimuli.

In the following example we will try searching the NIF for all visual illusions by typing in visual illusion, however putting in a particular illusion such as color constancy or rotating snakes is much better at obtaining a good narrow result set.

The Visiome can be found under the Dataset tab and contains the title, description, as well as the type of entry.  In this case we are seeing mostly stimuli, but books and binders (larger collections) are also listed.

When the user clicks on the blue link the visiome page is retrieved.  Below is the result of clicking on the stepping foot illusion.

This illusion (aka stimulus) can be viewed by clicking on the picture or downloaded from this page.
