Grants Tutorial

For up to date issues or problems with this database please see the wiki.

The research crossroads provides grant information from public (NIH, NSF, military) as well as private foundations in one interface.

There is a wealth of data here including the abstracts, years and other information about the grants given out over the years for any particular topic.

To find grant information we search for brain region cerebellum and alzheimer’s disease. However, it should be noted that there is a vast dataset here so most key words will come up with a hit from this database. Typing in the name of a researcher will produce the grants that he or she received over their careers

Here we have allowed the NIF system to search the autocompleted terms, bringing up a number of results from various databases.

Grants can be found under the Data Type: Grants.
The data include the investigator, Title of grant, grant type, code, Co-investigators, department, school, and granting organization, start and stop dates (not on the screen below). Note, the grant type noncompeting continuation is a renewal, which has been pointed out to us as probably not being very helpful.

Clicking on the name of the investigator will bring the user to the research crossroads database, where a summary of the project, as well as other associated information is viewable.
