ExactAntigen is a locator of antibodies available from all major suppliers, both commercial and non-commercial. If you are interested in obtaining an antibody against a specific gene product and you are not sure which suppliers will have this, ExactAntigen should be able to help you.
They catalog and link to all the supplier’s pages for antibody, siRNA, protein, biochemicals, cDNA and assay kits. They also display the prices for most antibodies from the supplier’s catalog.
We will begin by asking NIF about our favorite gene product, kv1.1:

Now we allow the fill in feature to work, bringing back all the synonyms and acronyms for kv1.1, with the following result set from ExactAntigen:

Note the results for antibodies include the species reactivity (human, mouse, rat) various synonyms, and a description. The first three results, though the names are different, are all kv1.1 reactive antibodies in different species. This is true of many proteins, which have different names depending on the species, which is why it is important to bring back as many synonyms as possible. To restrict your search to only those results from your intended species you can add the species and hit the “add to search” box.
Next we can click on any of the links in the Gene_ID column, which brings us to the summary data page for the antibody. Below you can see the result of a click to the Kv1.1 page, which is the rat gene.

Lower down on the page information about the suppliers of the antibodies is present as well as prices, quantity, and availability.
