Clinical Trials Tutorial

For up to date issues or problems with this database please see the wiki.
For more information, please visit the ClinicalTrials.gov Database.

The ClinicalTrials.gov database is a central repository of clinical trial information, which maintains a great deal of information on clinical trials, both recruiting and completed.  The clinical trials are worldwide and sponsored by both governmental bodies as well as drug companies.

To find this database, searching for a disease is a good entry point.  Below we use the example of obesity.

Under the data federation tab, and under data type, you can find clinical trials.  Clicking on the name of the resource turns the name red and shows the data to the right.

Note, the title, recruitment status, conditions, intervention, sponsors, genders of participants, age groups of participants, clinical phases and the study type are displayed.

To access more information including a full description of the study we click on the blue link.
