Browse The BAMS Cell data in NIF
For more information, visit the BAMS homepage or Neurolex Entry for the BAMS Cell

BAMS is an online resource for information about neural circuitry. The BAMS Cell view focuses on the major brain regions and which cells are contained therein.

To access BAMS Cell information through NIF, we can search for a specific cell type. For example, Retinal Ganglion Cell shown below.

Results for BAMS: Cell can be found under;

Data Federation > Nervous System Level > Cellular LevelBAMS cell image 2

Within the BAMS Cell results set, the following information can be found: Neuron, Brain region, Scheme, Nomenclature, Reference & Collator. The information provided allows users to determine which neuronal cell types can be found in various brain regions and vice versa.

From these search results, users are able to export the complete structured dataset, as a CVS file, and perform secondary statistical analyses across the Cell to Brain Region using the export button located on the upper right above the search results.
